I was privileged to spend many years as a missionary in South America and I can assure you that our poor brothers and sisters are the ones who evangelize US. Their joy in spite of difficulties and their strength to hold on to their faith are a lesson to all of us.
I was humbled by their acceptance of me, even though I was not of their race or national background. Their warm embrace convinced me that they understand that Christ lives in the members of the Church. We are indeed one in Him.
